Self Catering or Full Service or a mixture of the two- the choice is yours

SELF CATERING

While all charters onboard Destination Unknown are tailored to suit the needs of our guests, the default charter is self-catering.

Self catering means that everyone onboard participates in the food provisioning and meal preparations. This gives our guests intimacy and flexibility and may be the right option if you have specific dietary needs or you just enjoy cooking and exploring local markets and food.

The self catering option makes for a casual, intimate cruise with family or friends onboard.

FULLY CREWED WITH CHEF/HOST

If you prefer, Claire can serve you delicious cuisine, using fresh local ingredients as available and serve crafted appetizers throughout the days. You will never go hungry!

When you book, we will ask you to list your dining, snack and beverage preferences.

When you confirm, we will start working with you to create meal plans tailored to your tastes. If you want to celebrate a special occasion, want to book a special restaurant, we can do the research and book it for you.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

We utilise an Advanced provisioning allowance (APA), this is an additional fee that you pay in advance to cover the cost of provisions for your charter. The APA is paid on top of the charter fee. It helps to think of the advanced provisioning allowance as like opening a petty cash account for your captain and chef, because it’s the simplest way of tracking charter expenses while you’re on board.

These can include initial food and drink purchases for your time on board, plus any further provisioning for fresh produce during the week, mooring bouy and Marina berth fees.
